Good afternoon Ma’am! (It’s okay to call them ma’am/sir if you’re not okay with the name calling culture yet. P.S: I wasn’t)

Hi Rishabh! Please have a seat

Thank you ma’am

So how has your day been?

(Excited AF) Very Great Ma’am!

Excited coz of my excitement) Why so Great?

Because ma’am reaching this stage after clearing GD is exciting as well as a motivation in itself. Not everybody is lucky enough to appear for Deloitte’s interviews

Yes! You should realize that clearing the aptitude as well the GD specifically for deloitte is kinda an achievement as you should feel proud. Take it as an experience anyway

Absolutely ma’am, that’s exactly my point. YAY! I cleared the GD of deloitte

Great! So Rishabh first of all tell me something about yourself

I’m Rishabh jha, a hardworking engineering graduate specialized in electronics and communication

Along with my degree I’ve completed a web development course on Udemy and an AWS Solutions architect certification training on Edureka

After learning these technologies I’ve made a few projects like hosting my own portfolio website Blogshlog.be completely on AWS’ Infrastructure, deploying a node.js webapp again on AWS’ infrastructure and a few more

It was during these projects that I realized that I possess great self-learning and quick-learning capabilities. My curiosity to learn new technologies will certainly help to become a better version of myself time and again

Okay Rishabh I see too much of AWS on your resume. So can you just tell me what this AWS is? What’s it for?

Ma’am AWS stands for Amazon web services. They are a cloud service provider and provide resources like databases, VMs, storages etc

How did you manage to do this certification?

Ma’am there are 2 factors. First is that my dad has been in the same industry for the last twenty years and he is also AWS Certified, Azure Certified, Office 365 Certified and what not, so I have an early exposure with technologies like these (INTERRUPTED)

(JOKING) Okay so make your son do the certifications too right? Good!

(LAUGHING) No ma’am that’s certainly not the case. Actually I was always interested in cloud so one day when I was just scrolling through my facebook feed I came across a sponsored Ad for AWS Educate program. That’s where my journey began

So i started to dig deeper into it and discovered that these and these are the certifications available for me to do. And according to me, the best way to learn about a new technology is to make a project on it or gain an extensive hands-on experience with it. So I created projects like my portfolio website Blogshlog.be

Can you show it to me right now?

(Excited AF) Yes ma’am why not. (Pulled out my phone and opened it, kept loading coz net in jiit-62 sucks)

Okay let it open. Even I’m struggling with poor connectivity since morning

I Know ma’am. Connectivity here is just awful

Rishabh there’s one thing that I need to tell you. Irrespective of the results of this interview coz I can’t assure you that you’ll be selected or not but irrespective of the results, please keep moving in the direction you’re currently in and gather as much certifications as you can

You should know that not many people are AWS certified in your college. So keep learning and do as many certifications while you still can. They are certainly going to benefit you in the long run

Definitely ma’am. I do not have any plans for stopping there and I even have plans for my next certification

That’s great! So moving on, tell me the service models of cloud

There are 3- Infrastructure as a service, platform as a service and infrastructure as a service

What are the deployment models?

Public, private, hybrid, community

Difference between public and private cloud?

The main difference lies in the management aspect of the either one. Public cloud does not need to be managed by the organization whereas private cloud or an enterprise cloud need to be managed, from servers to security, everything is managed by the organization itself

Also public cloud is accessible to anyone with an internet connection whereas a private cloud can only be accessed by an authorized personnel

Explain multi-tenant systems

Those systems which have multiple users on a common infrastructure are known as multi-tenant systems. Basically systems where there are multiple tenants for the same infra

Okay! btw I have been playing rapid fire with you (CHUCKLING)

Yes ma’am I can definitely feel that! (CHUCKLING)

Continuing…Define Encryption

(4-5 Second pause. I was framing the answer. It’s okay to stop for a moment and think rather than speaking gibberish) uuuhh. How do I put it?

Encryption is basically a process of concealing a piece of data from someone who isn’t authorized to comprehend it. (She wasn’t looking satisfied with my answer, neither was I. It was a close call)

Give examples of cryptographic techniques? You have that term mentioned in your resume

There are various cryptographic techniques available like SHA-256, AES, DES, 3DES and SSH

Do you think SSH is still in use?

Yes ma’am absolutely. I use it all the time to connect to my EC2 instances

And what about SSL? Do you think it’s still in use?

Yes ma’am even got an SSL Certificate issued for my website

Okay! Write the 7 layers on OSI Model

(Writing them down on a sheet of paper while she was checking out the website)

Here ma’am!

Right! Also can you just walk me through your website?

Sure ma’am. I just put stuff on this website which I otherwise cannot showcase in an interview or my resume

(Nodding)

(talking briefly about posts on the home page)

Okay that’s good. Can you tell me about any of the elective subject that might have taken up in your previous semester?

Ma’am Principles of management would be one of them

So can you tell me about any 4 Principles of management?

(3-4 sec pause) ma’am I don’t remember them

Can you tell me about SWOT Analysis

ummm ma’am. I don’t know

Do you anything about that subject?

Ma’am honestly speaking, no. It was a very, very theoretical subject and I do not remember the most of it

That’s fine. Doesn’t matter

Tell me about your strengths?

Ma’am I would say that my strengths lie in my self-learning capabilities. I learnt everything on my own to achieve this certification and also made projects relating to the same

And your weaknesses?

ma’am ironically my weaknesses are a consequence of my strengths. Since I want to learn many things simultaneously, I am not able to manage my time. Poor time management has been one of my weaknesses

But deloitte is all about time-management. How are you going cope up?

yes ma’am I do realize that and hence since I have discovered this weakness of mine I have been working on it and have been able to overcome it. I started out by making deadlines for my learnings as well as my projects

I’ve learnt how to prioritize things. As a result, now my learning pathways are very much aligned with my upcoming projects like this is the project which I’m going to work upon next and these are the required skill sets to achieve it

Okay, good! So Rishabh tell me you’re so interested in technologies like cloud then why not join a development based organization and why not even AWS itself?

(CHUCKLING) Ma’am there are many factors involved. Deloitte’s reputation is certainly a factor. Moreover when I was going through the risk advisory field and applying for the same I read that this field doesn’t restrict you to the pathway you’re currently working in

I am a type of person who always wants to keep learning new cutting edge technologies and always be able to switch lanes in my career. I do not want to work on cloud my whole life

Also One of the deloitte’ s senior manager in the presentation said that she has been switching profiles in deloitte since the time she had joined, starting with advisory itself

So Rishabh I guess that’s it. Do you have any questions for me?

1. What is actually the deloitte-AWS association?
2. Does deloitte have any plans for implementing blockchain in the future?
(I was satisfied with her answers)

Okay so Rishabh all the best and it has been great talking to you

Thank you so much ma’am, you too!!
